So in order to move the search box to the left of the taskbar (next to the Start button) you need to follow the given below steps.

Step 5: Now move the search box on the taskbar to the bottom by clicking on the search and dragging the same, and then drag it to the extreme left to place it next to the Start. Once done, restore the default height of the taskbar before locking the taskbar again.

Your PC automatically indexes content to deliver faster search results. If you're running Windows 10, version 1903 (May 2019 Update) or later versions and Windows can detect a problem, we'll run the Search troubleshooter automatically. This troubleshooter will reset Windows Search back to the default experience. View your troubleshooter history under Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > View History. Follow the solutions below if your issue is still not resolved.

An important question arises, when you search for any term, will it open Internet Explorer 8 browser to display the results? No, it will open the search results in the Windows Default Browser(it could be FF/Chrome/Opera/Safari) or you can manually select it by right-clicking the Google Quick Search icon in the taskbar(see screenshot below).

Mostly all the same features are included in Windows Start menu search box. Start menu search is also able to search the web and open the results in the default browser. Ofcourse they are not the exact same thing, but im just pointing out that many of this Google Quick Search box's features are already built into Windows anyway.

UltraSearch Free looks for files and folders and presents the results in just a few seconds. The sleek tool uses the unique technology which enables the searching directly at the heart of the NTFS file system on your hard drive, the Master File Table (MFT). UltraSearch searches all directories on local drives at lightning speed and delivers what you are looking for in a clear overview.

In addition to the use of search patterns, a search can be narrowed down even further via the exclusion of files and folders. Exclude system files from your search results by not searching certain folders and not listing certain file types.

UltraSearch comes with the advantage that it looks for your query straight into the Master File Table of the NTFS drive. The speed in returning a result through this method is amazing. You will actually be able to view results as you type the search term.

grepWin may look like your average search tool, but this program allows you to use regular expression for a deeper and thorough search. A regular expression is a type of advanced searching that looks for particular patterns rather than terms and phrases. This works well for users who file their documents using the same strings of characters as it can help them pull out all the files they need in one search rather than typing each filename separately.

One of the best parts about this program is its portability. With DocFetcher, you can create a complete, fully searchable document repository and save it in a USB drive or an encrypted volume. Apart from that, you can synchronize between computers through cloud storage for maximum convenience.

From here you can Click a Search filter to add exactly what you want to find. You can also just Type it into the search box manually.

This does not seem to me to be an upgrade as far as search options go. Seems to be a shortcut and way more taxing on the CPU.I can see thatt hey may have intended to make searches more speedy for the person that knows the OP like the back of his hand but by doing that, they left the other 99% out in the cold. I would rather have waited on a search item as it searched my system than have had to do all this crap to get to the section I wanted to search only to find that the answer is on some other drive alltogether and thaat I have to do it again.Nice that this is explained here though. Thanks for that.
