Journal themes

I started designing the first theme called 'Love & light' - that shouldn't come as a surprise by now. ;o) In this theme, there are titles that only resonate with that feeling, vibe.

For example:

1. Namaste (the divine and self (atman, soul) is same in you and me - my soul bows to your soul in greeting)

2. Love

I also experimented with the topic of online aesthetics, such as 'Academia'. I have created a few titles to which I felt drawn:

DPS - Inspired by the Dead Poets Society (book & film)

Each series will have different colours/fonts/covers/interiors.

I must admit, at first, my favourite was the 'Fairy Tale' theme. Yup, the first designs are pink, however, I will include the French muted blue that whispers aged coloured papers faded by time and sun. I do get carried away just how certain colours make me feel and imagine. We could drift off-topic here into colour therapy, but I won't, I'm focused. Teehee.

I could've written this page in a more professional way, but I want you to 'see' me through the words. I don't know, it's just so important that I'm not simply a generated voice with the sole purpose of sales. I'm excited about these beautiful journals. What will be written in them? How will people stack them? What word themes will be made from the spine titles? Endless possibility.

I also decided to offer printable downloads of journals in PDF format which can be printed at home, at your local library or print shop.

Hi, and welcome,
Allow me to introduce the Soul Speak table book journals. These have been designed for functionality and decoration in mind.

Years ago, I studied interior design, and ever since,
I have been drawn to creating beautiful home environments. The little things, not too pricey, can make all all the difference to an interior 'theme'.

What do I mean by theme? Well, in this case, if you love journaling, scribbling notes, lists, goal setting, writing gratitudes daily, etc, you already feel drawn to certain journals. Mostly, it's a 'feel' thing that makes you feel comfortable - invited to write on a blank page, which can be quite intimidating at first - opening a new journal up, savouring the possibility of your words upon the page. Then, we bravely place ink down, spilling our thoughts and desires.

I have so many journals, I use them for everything, but mainly doodles and scribbles for art and novels.

I'm drawn to colours and styles that suit my personality, feels, etc. Often, these happen to be my interior decor colours too, as we all express ourselves through everything, even if we don't realise that we're doing so.

Keeping this in mind, mingled with our passions, likes, affirmations, quotes, etc, that we often find throughout our homes. I thought wouldn't it be wonderful to design a set of journals, thick with 500 pages, to display in words/themes that we resonate with in a functional way.

Table books are a wonderful way to exhibit pieces of our personality. They also lift us up, being 'pretties' that drew us in prior to purchase. These little things are what make us feel at home, help us get familiar with our style, and are comfortable to live around.

Well, that's what Soul Speak journals are - pieces of us - a reflection of who we are, or working towards being. These journals are created for enjoyment, inside and out.

I'm in the process of building a series offering many themes to suit our wonderfully diverse tastes and styles. It's fun and exciting, and I'm so glad you're a part of this journey too. Just by being here now and taking the time to read my words - thank you.

Arrange the titles on the spines of the books to create a text theme. Mix colours and different journal series to create an original visual display.

the process

It's been quite a learning curb already. I had to learn the merging of PDFs, formatting covers, and different software applications. But that didn't stop me, I was on a roll. Lol. Excited, I raced to develop designs, mind bursting with a zillion ideas until...Amazon informed me that I need to change the content for every journal. They blocked a few titles, and I felt disheartened. I worried too, for what if my author account, the one I publish novels by, was damaged by trying to create another dream?

This adventure is new to me, so, I emailed straight away to express my concerns, I await their reply. In the meantime, I'm having to redesign the interior content for each book I created. I'm a bit deflated, but lesson learned, stop getting over-zealous when inspired. It's hard. When I'm in the flow I go with it - ideas are coming so fast, it's a process I love as fires my passion and love for the designs that I'm creating.

So, here I am, writing up my journal page hoping everything will work itself out as long as I put in the work, which I have and will continue. I love these journals, they just feel right. It's my hope that some of you will resonate with them too. Fingers and toes crossed. :o)

I'll post an update here as soon as I know the direction that Amazon is going with my journals. Wish me luck.

I've given links to the titles available at present. Just so that you can browse and see what I've been up to.

BIG LOVE,
